Requirements
What to prepare before installing FiverPanel or DNSOnly.
Use a server dedicated to FiverPanel whenever possible. The installer changes web edge, SQL database, authoritative DNS, firewall, systemd services, and security components.
Operating system and access
| Item | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| System | supported Linux LTS x86_64 or an architecture supported by the stable channel. |
| Access | SSH with a user able to become root; run the installation as root. |
| CPU | 2 vCPU or more is a practical starting point. |
| Memory | 2 GB or more for a lean installation; increase it according to workloads. |
| Disk | 40 GB or more is a practical baseline; sites, email, and backups require additional planning. |
| Network | Stable public IPv4 and administrative access to the provider firewall. |
Existing serverDo not install FiverPanel over a critical server already occupied by another stack without a migration plan. The panel manages core system services.
Ports
| Port | Use |
|---|---|
| 22/TCP | Administrative SSH. |
| 53/TCP + 53/UDP | Authoritative DNS. |
| 80/TCP | HTTP and certificate challenges. |
| 443/TCP | Website HTTPS. |
| 2083/TCP | FiverPanel HTTPS interface. |
Internal services such as the panel backend and the local authoritative DNS API remain restricted to loopback.
DNS before onboarding
Have the panel domain, server hostname, and nameserver names ready. In a white-label deployment, prefer real FQDNs from the beginning.
